Robert McNeill Alexander, CBE FRS (1934–2016) was a British zoologist with a specialty on comparative biomechanics. His research crossed over many species and physiological systems, including swim bladders, fish tails, muscle and tendon mechanics, legged locomotion,flight, and optimization in animals.
