Dr. Shear is currently the Charles Patterson Distiguished Professor in Biology at Hampden-Sydney College, Virginia. He completed an A. B. at Wooster College, a M. A. at the University of New Mexico, and a PhD at Harvard Univeristy under Dr. Herbert Levi.
