"William Veatch"Bio:
WILLIAM R. VEATCH, Assistant Professor of Pharmacology, died June 7, 1982, at the age of 36. Mr. Veatch was a pioneer in the study of structure and function of channels in biological membranes. His early work explained the molecular concentration of gramiculidan, a polypeptide antibiotic necessary for channel-forming activity. Most recently he had been investigating the dynamic interaction between transmembrane proteins and the ectoskeleton of the human red blood cell.
