La primera generación: los ‘hijos’ de Marini Bettolo
Entre los investigadores entrenados directamente por el profesor
Marini Bettolo, algunos de los más destacados fueron los que se
indica a continuación, junto con cierta información sobre sus
trayectorias.
Mario Rurik Falco fue profesor titular de química orgánica. En
1950 realizó una estadía de un año en Roma, en el Istituto Superiore
di Sanitá para luego viajar a Zurich. Durante el período de la
dictadura fue uno de los pocos investigadores que mantuvo una
tarea continua de investigación y el plantel actual del Departamento
de Química Orgánica está compuesto por ‘descendientes’ suyos.
Juan Alberto Coch fue profesor titular de fisicoquímica. Viajó a
Roma en el año 1956 y luego fue a Francia y Suecia. Terminó su
doctorado en Montevideo, y se radicó en Brasil, en la ciudad de Río
Grande, desde el año 1974.
