Edward E. Miller, professor of soil science and of physics, University of Wisconsin, Madison, retired May 25, 1986 after 41 years of service. He received his B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri and his M.S. and Ph.D. in physics at Wisconsin by 1941. He served with the M.I.T. Radiation Laboratory from 1941-46 and came to the University of Wisconsin as an assistant professor in the fall of 1946. Dr. Miller's main soil science research has been on soil-water physics.
