Bio:

Alcides Fonseca is an Assistant Professor at University of Lisbon, where he teaches Functional Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, Compilers, Parallel and Concurrent Programming.

As an integrated member of LASIGE, his research spans the intersection of programming languages, concurrent programming, and machine-learning.

Alcides collaborates with private companies frequently. Currently, he is a scientific consultant for Genomed, a genetic test startup, and he leads the LASIGE side of a CMU|Portugal project with Feedzai. In the past, he has worked with several companies in Portugal, UK, and US.
