1911-1981. Participated in the critical study showing that rheumatic fever could be prevented if Streptococcal throat infections were treated, 1949-56, at the Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming. In Cleveland, he studied the epidemiology of Staphylococcus in newborn hospital nurseries.
