Nikolaus Poda von Neuhaus (1723-1798)
He began his studies first at the Academic Gymnasium, graduate in 1739. Then started to study at the University of Vienna in 1739. In 1740 he joined the Society of Jesus. Then studied in Leoben in 1742, in Klagenfurt 1743-1746, in Judenburg 1747, Mathematics in Vienna 1748-1749 and Theology from 1750-1753, received doctor of philosophy.
After obtaining the Tertial of the Order in Judenburg in 1754, he worked as a teacher first in Klagenfurt 1755-1756, then in Linz in 1757, and became professor mathematics and physics at the Jesuit University of Graz 1758-1766, where he also was the curator of the astronomic observatory and founded a natural history collection which has lost a collection of minerals and other insects.
