John William Hotson Ph. D. was born on 2 May 1869 in Innerkip, Oxford County, and died 22 Aug 1957 in Seattle, King Co., Washington, USA.
John taught school before getting his B.A. and M.A. from McMaster University. A running sore on his leg which he got from swimming as a teenager, meant he was lame all his life and used a cane.
