Nephew of Jagadish Chandra Bose. Pioneered, together with Biva Chaudhuri in 1941, the photographic method of observing nuclear processes, discovering unknown particles later identified as pions by C.F. Powell. Director of the Bose Institute (1938-1967). Foundation Fellow of the National Institute of Sciences of India (FNI, 1935).
