Bio:

Dr. Ran Cheng obtained his Ph.D. in condensed matter physics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014. He was a postdoc at Carnegie Mellon University before joining UC-Riverside as a faculty member in 2018. His research centers on fundamental physics and applications of magnetic materials. He studies a wide variety of transport phenomena involving spin, charge, and mechanical degrees of freedom.
