Bio:

I did my graduation in Biology at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and I first worked as a technician during three years in a research project focusing on the conservation genetics of Portuguese amphibians and reptiles. From October 1998 to March 2004 I was a PhD student at the same University, and my thesis was about the evolutionary history of an endemic Iberian lizard, Lacerta schreiberi.
