Professor William J. Carr, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Abington, PA, devoted husband, father and teacher, died Thursday, September 29, 2005 in the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Jean Koser Carr. They celebrated their 59th anniversary on September 9th.
Born on December 23, 1924 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Joseph E. II and Elizabeth Nicholas Carr.
Professor Carr was raised at the Masonic Homes following the death of his father. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving in North Africa, Italy and the South Pacific.
Professor Carr earned his Bachelor s Degree in Psychology at Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster in 1949. He went on to earn a Master s Degree from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore in 1952 and a Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1954.
