Dr. J. Oort, die in 1928 is geboren, legde op 25-jarige leeftijd het arts examen te Leiden af. In 1957 promoveerde hij tot doctor in de faculteit der geneeskunde op een proefschrift getiteld De hypophysis cerebri bij Larus Ridibundus.
