"Luis Barros"Bio:
My connection to linguistics (the heading under which I am forming this genealogy) is in many ways fragile (yet sincere). This is because I am currently a sociocultural anthropologist, seeking a PhD, and engaged in development work. I currently am taking the Foundations of Linguistic Anthropology (a course that I really enjoy and learn a lot from) at the UoA and I am a teaching assistant for an undergraduate course in race and ethnicity under a Linguistic Anthropology professor. Therefore, I like to think of myself as a "benign tumor" in the body of linguistics. It would be nice to have an entry in "anthropology" in general where I could fit naturally in with my linguistic brothers and sisters without feeling a little foreign!
