NR 537 Week 5 Rubric Development

A well-known issue within the nursing profession is incivility, which can be defined as rude behaviors and discourteous actions that hurt an individual’s dignity (American Nurses Association, 2015). Master’s-prepared advanced practice nurses are encouraged to promote and cultivate cultures of civility in their chosen nursing setting.

This week, you will analyze scholarly literature regarding the issue of incivility and strategies for cultivating healthful environments. You will then apply these strategies to your own professional context.

This week, you will continue the NR 621 Intervention Evaluation Plan process for your NR 537 Intervention Evaluation Plan. This step will include determining what outcomes to evaluate and developing a data collection method. In addition, you will create an answer-worksheet and scoring sheet for your instructor to facilitate assignment evaluations. Two faculty members tested the CR rubric and designed worksheet by utilizing it to evaluate scenario-based assignments of second-semester NP students in a course on basic nursing concepts. They then compared their experience using this tool to the previous method and approved its applicability.

A systematic review then can be conducted to generate appropriate and relevant evidence. Finally, the evidence can be used to implement a change in nursing practice.

This week’s assignment will follow Nurse Daniel as she guides you through each step of the EBP process. Remember to consult with your instructor early in the process of choosing your topic and systematic review if you have questions. Also, refer to the guidelines area for important information.
