"Martin Reich"Bio:
Martin Reich is Professor of Geology at the University of Chile in Santiago, and a Lindgren Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG). He also holds appointments as Director of the Millennium Nucleus for Metal Tracing and as Head of Fluid Geochemistry in the Andean Geothermal Center of Excellence (CEGA) at the same university. He holds a B.Sc. and professional degree in geology from the University of Concepción, Chile, and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
As a geologist specializing in the geochemistry of mineral deposits, Martin is recognized for applying a wide range of research methods to understand ore minerals at different scales, with a special focus on sulfides and oxides. In the past years, Martin has leaded applications of non-conventional stable, radiogenic, and cosmogenic isotopes to bring new insights into magmatic, hydrothermal and supergene ore-forming processes.
