Bio:

My research is centered at the development of “smart” multifunctional catalysts and reaction systems that can
operate at liquid-gas and liquid-liquid interfaces to improve mass transport and chemical selectivity of catalytic
reactions. By combining fundamental studies of reaction chemistry and kinetics with atomic-characterization of the
catalyst textural, chemical, and electronic properties, it is possible to stablish solid structure-activity-selectivity
relationships that enable deeper understanding of catalytic process at molecular level. Leveraging this fundamental
knowledge for the development of advanced catalyst formulations allows us to create innovative reaction technologies
for biomass conversion, green chemistry, CO2 valorization, renewable H2 production, and improve existing processes
in the oil and chemical industries.
