Bio:

Kenneth A. Smith, ScD, M.I.T., '62, had been a student of Mickley, had spent a postdoctoral year in Cambridge, England under G. I. Taylor and Alan Townsend in the Cavendish Laboratory, and on return began a career of research and teaching in the general area of transport processes. His nearly 70 publications in the areas of non- Newtonian fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, biomedical engineering, desalination, and polymer characterization include many which are outstanding contributions to chemical engineering
