Bio:

Stock, who obtained a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Michigan in 1952 and a Ph.D. from Purdue University in 1959, has spent his entire professional career at the University of Chicago. He joined the faculty in 1958 as an instructor and was promoted to full professor in 1970. He served as associate dean of the division of physical sciences and the college from 1976 to 1981, and has been chairman of the department of chemistry since 1985. [written in 1987]
