1897-1972. Dean of Boston University Medical Center, 1955-1960. First Secretary fo the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare. Served as Chairman of the National Research Council’s Committee on Chemotherapeutics and Other Agents during WWII and made decisions about distribution of the limited supply of penicillin then available.
