"William C. E. Higginson"Bio:
"The direction my work has taken and the foundations upon which it is laid owe much to my fortunate connection, as a young research worker, with the two eminent chemists, R. P. Bell and M. G. Evans. I was an undergraduate student of Ronnie Bell's; from him I later learned how to set about research and acquired my liking for kinetics. In 1948 I left Oxford to work with Evans, first in Leeds and shortly afterwards in Manchester. During this Manchester period, which ended with his tragic death in 1952, "M.G." was the central figure in one of the most impressive research schools in physical chemistry this country has known."
