Born in Allentown, PA; raised in North Attleboro, MA, USA. Trained in biology and chemistry at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, then earned a doctorate from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Postdoctoral research in medicinal natural products at Scripps. Since 2001, Mike has been employed in a variety of biotech, pharma, and start-up positions, and has published original research in organometallics, natural products, chemistry history, and collaboration tools.

He enjoys good coffee, travel, and is an accomplished amateur musician. He currently lives with his family just outside of Boston.
