Bio:

Robert contributed to successful development of heat shield coatings for nose cones of spacecraft re-entry vehicles.
His parents immigrated from Germany to NYC (Harlem) in the 1920's. He was born in 1937, graduated Xavier HS in 1955, joined ROTC at Boston College and served in U.S. Army after graduation. Robert earned his M.S. in Polymer Chemistry at UCLA in 1963 under Prof. Thomas L Jacobs. He then started working for Martin in California, later transferring to Florida. He married Ruby Wright, they have 4 sons and 2 daughters. He was stricken with gastrointestinal cancer at age 53, died in Orlando in 1990.
