My Ph.D. work was with Diane Hawley. Dissertation title was "Mechanisms of Transcriptional Elongation and Proofreading by Human RNA polymerase II". Some of my dissertation was published in Cell, Thomas, M.J., Platas, A.A., and Hawley, D.K. (1998). Transcriptional fidelity and proofreading by RNA polymerase II. Cell 93:627-637.
I am currently a Professor at State College of Florida where I am the biotechnology program manager for a 2 year AS program.
