Bio:

Professor Omar A. El Seoud obteve em 1964 seu grau de Bacharel em Química Industrial pela Universidade de Ain-Shams, Cairo, Egito. De 1965 a 1968 foi "Research Assistant" na Divisão de Petróleo, do National Research Center, em Cairo, onde realizou seu trabalho experimental para obter o grau de Mestrado. Em 1986 obteve seu Mestrado em Petroquímica pela Universidade de Ain-Shams, Cairo. Em 1972, obteve seu grau de Doutoramento em Química pelo Instituto de Química da Universidade de São Paulo.
Entre 1972 e 1974 foi "Research Associate" no Departamento de Química, Universidade de Texas A&M, USA, e em 1974 ingressou na carreira universitária no Brasil como Professor assistente, no Instituto de Química, Universidade de São Paulo. Obteve seu título de Livre-docente em 1978, e foi promovido, através de concursos públicos, para Professor adjunto em 1982, e Professor titular em 1988.
