Bio:

I am an assistant professor in Optical Network architectures at the department of Computer Science and Statistics of the University of Dublin, Trinity College. My research interests are Converged metro/access network architecture, Long-Reach passive optical networks, Intra and inter data center communications architectures and protocols, Software Defined Networks access/metro control planes, PON protocols and FPGA prototype development.

I obtained my M.Eng. in telecommunications in 2002 From Polytechnic University of Marche (Italy), and after working first as consultant in Accenture Milan and then as a research scientist for Philips in Germany I joined Trinity College Dublin (TCD) in 2005, where I received my Ph.D. in 2007 submitting a thesis on “Optical IP Switching“.
