As an undergraduate I studied under Dr. William A. Shear (Hampden-Sydney College). I completed my MS under Dr. Frederick A. Coyle (Western Carolina University). I am currently completing my PhD under Dr. Daniel Formanowicz (University of Texas at Arlington).

 (Dr. Shear interested me in evolution, spiders, and behavior when I was an undergraduate. I did my first research project under his direction.)

 (Dr. Coyle directed my MS thesis on the burrow and door construction behavior of some mygalomorph spiders.)
