Bio:

I am interested on the systematics and molecular evolution of Southeast Asian mammals; particularly bats. I would like to understand the diversity of several genera in these groups, looking for common patterns in their distribution and origin. This allow me to understand the extent to which biogeography of Southeast Asia has shaped the genetic diversity of mammals in this region. Currently my lab is working on the evolution of Roundleaf bats, Horseshoe bats, and several groups of rodents, looking at multiple transmission line, including paternal, maternal and autosomal marker along with behavioral characteristic such as echolocation) and geometric morphometric technique to identify taxonomic unit. Further, I hope this will provide a better understanding on their mode of evolution and diversification in Southeast Asia. I am also keen to move forward with the advancement of genomic field by incorporating bioinformatics to better utilize natural history collection.
