 (Prof. Piercy suggested the thesis topic researched by John Clarke, but passed away in 1953 prior to its completion.)
Alec David Young post-doc 1954-1955 Queen Mary College
 (Alec Young arrived at Queen Mary in 1954, taking the Chair previously occupied by N. Piercy. Young and Clarke do not appear to have published together but Young must have been an influence during Clarke's final years as a PhD student and subsequently.)
