Maria Carmen Diaz is an Andalusian Researcher and Scientific Illustrator originally from a little fishing town in Cádiz. She has worked as a researcher in laboratories in both Spain and the UK, and after her second postdoc in the Francis Crick Institute in London, she joined the Stramer lab in 2020 as a fly technician, to continue working with fruit flies and live microscopy.
