Henri Parinaud, MD

1844-1905. French neurologist. Parinaud's oculoglandular syndrome is named for him, whcih can result from cat-scratch disease, now known to be caused by Bartonella henslae. This syndrome invovled fever, conjunctivitism and enlarged lymph nodes. Parinaud's syndrome is also named for him -- which is "vertical gaze palsy, convergence-retraction nystagmus and light-near dissociation." His research involved the visual system, hysteria, migraine, and multiple sclerosis.
