Bio:

1954-. Adjunct Prof. at Emory and works at Cepheid, a medical diagnostics company. A pioneer in the development of PFGE as a genotyping tool, author of a seminal 1995 article on the subject in the Journal of Clinical Microbiology. Studied N. gonorrhoeae in graduate school and later studied antibiotic resistance genes and molecular diagnostics, but he has been involved in a wide variety of studies while at CDC.
