Gottlieb Kortte (Corte), professor of law from 1726 until his death in 1731 (at age thirty-three); author of numerous legal and historical works. The cantata "Vereinigte Zwietracht der wechselnden Saiten," BWV 207, was commissioned by Johann Sebastian Bach as a congratulatory piece to be performed on the occasion of Kortte's appointment to a professorship in December 1726.
