James McFadden, 78, of Fort Collins passed away on June 20, 2009. Jim was born on April 22, 1931 in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania to John and Rebecca (Thompson) McFadden. Jim received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh, his Master's degree from Ohio State University, and his PhD from Pennsylvania State University ("An Ecological Comparison of Six Brown Trout (" Salmo Trutta") Populations", 1961). He also served in the Naval Reserves for 8 years. He married Clare Bruecken on November 6, 1954 in Pittsburgh, Pa. He taught at the University of Michigan where he was a professor of Fisheries and Dean of the School of Natural Resources. He moved to Fort Collins in 1989 and worked at CSU as an adjunct professor.
