"Guillaume Budé "Bio:
Guillaume Bude, Budaeus, is famous scholar born in Paris in 1467, and died in Paris on August 22, 1540. He was the son of Jean Budé, lord of Yeres, de Villiers and Marly , and Catherine Picart of Plateville. He studied law at Orleans, with little success, lived several years in dissipation, then began with an extraordinary zeal to rebuild from the ground up his education. After receiving a few lessons from the Greek Hermonyme and excellent advice of John Lascaris, he possessed a thorough knowledge of Greek. At the same time, he learned the math with Jacques Lefevre, studying the natural sciences, philosophy, history, theology, law, and medicine.
