I was born in Liverpool, England, in 1970. I studied pure & applied physics at the University of Manchester (UMIST) and graduated in 1992 (BSc,: I, hons). I received a PhD in applied maths (fusion plasma kinetic theory) in 1996 from the Mathematics Institute of St Andrews University. Since then I've been working as a postdoc mostly in the fields of Earth observation, machine learning and scientific software engineering, atmospheric physics and astrophysics in the UK, Spain & Greece. I am a menber of the Marie-Curie Alumni Assoc. I am working on the GloSAT project (www.glosat.org) in the Climatic Research Unit (www.cru.uea.ac.uk) in the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia to estimate how the global climate has changed over the industrial era.
