Bio:

Michael Castellani studied chemistry at Furman University where he obtained a BS degree in 1982. He obtained an MS in Chemistry from Northwestern University in 1983 and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California at San Diego in 1986 under the direction of William Trogler studying sterically congested metallocenes. He then studied organometallic photochemical kinetics with David Tyler at the University of Oregon, before coming to Marshall in 1988. His research interests include the synthesis, reactivity, and physical properties of transition metal organometallic radical complexes as well as the effects large ligands have on the structure and properties of organotransition metal complexes.
