Karel Hoffmeister (born September 26, 1868 in Liblice, † September 23, 1952 in Hluboká) was a Czech pianist, piano teacher and musicologist.

Hoffmeister studied music in Prague and was organ student of Karl Knittl, Josef Klicka and Karel plug, then piano students of Jindřich z Kaan Albestu. This was followed by a study of history, art history and aesthetics at Charles University in Prague with Otakar Hostinský. He taught after 1891 at the music school in Ljubljana and after 1898 at the Prague Conservatory, after 1902 as professor of music theory and music history. From 1920 to 1939 director of a master class at the State Conservatory, repeated its rector, also a virtuoso pianist and writer on music.
