Bio:

Christophe Vieira is a postdoctoral fellow at Jeju National University, Korea (2022-2025) working with Myung Sook Kim. He was a JSPS postdoctoral fellow at Kobe University, Japan under the direction of Hiroshi Kawai for 2 years (2019-2021). He also completed a 3 years postdoctoral fellowship at the Phycology lab in Ghent University, Belgium (2016-2019) under the direction of Olivier De Clerck. He was awarded a PhD in Marine Sciences jointly by the University of Pierre and Marie Curie (France) and Ghent University (Belgium) for his work on the brown-algal genus Lobophora biotic interaction and diversification, and was enrolled in the MARES-EU Joint Doctoral Training Programme. His research work focuses on macroalgal taxonomy, ecology, biogeography, phylogeography and evolution.
