"Rudolf Ernst Peierls"
Bio:

(1907 - 1995)
Mathematics Genealogy incorrectly mentions Werner Heisenberg as one of Peierls' PhD advisors. In fact, Peierls' prepared his dissertation under Wolfgang Pauli in Zürich, but since he was not allowed to have his PhD defense there he submitted his dissertation to the University of Leipzig, where he defended his thesis under Friedrich Hund and Peter Debye. In his dissertation Peierls explicitly mentions Pauli, Hund and Debye; Heisenberg is not mentioned in the acknowledgement.
