Evatt Hawkes works on computational modelling of reacting flows with applications in combustion and solar energy. He received a B.Eng. and a B.Sci. from the University of Western Australia in 1995, and a PhD from the University of Cambridge in 2001. He worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Combustion Research Facility, Sandia National Laboratories, from 2002 until joining the University of New South Wales in 2007. At UNSW he is Associate Professor and Australian Research Council Future Fellow, and directs a program of computational energy research.
