Bio:

Panagiotis Lambropoulos obtained his PhD in Nuclear Science from the Univ. of Michigan (USA) in 1965. He was a Professor at the Univ. of Southern California (USA) from 1978-1993 and joined the Univ. of Crete as a Professor in 1981. From 1983-1996 he was the director of the Institute of Electronic Structure and Lasers (IESL/FORTH). From 1993 until 2001 he was also the head of the theory group of the Max-Planck-Institut fur Quantenoptik in Garching (Germany). He retired and was elected Emeritus Professor in 2003.
