Bio:

Paul Dowd graduated from Harvard College in 1958, and then went to Columbia where he received the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees. His thesis was written under the direction of Ronald Breslow and dealt with approaches to the sym-triphenylcyclopropenyl anion. He then returned to Harvard for a year of postdoctoral work with R.B. Woodward, followed by 6 years on the staff.
