Bio:

Dr. Dan M. Ionel is a Professor of Electrical Engineering and the L. Stanley Pigman Chair in Power at the University of Kentucky, directing the SPARK Laboratory and PEIK Institute. He previously served as Chief Engineer at Regal Beloit Corp. and Chief Scientist at Vestas Wind Turbines. Dr. Ionel holds M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees from the University Politehnica of Bucharest and completed research fellowships in the UK and Scotland. An IEEE Fellow, he has authored over 200 papers, holds more than 30 patents, and received the prestigious IEEE CG Veinott Award.
