Vasilis Niarchos completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Athens in 1998. He concluded his graduate studies (Ph.D.) at the University of Chicago in 2004 on the subjects of String Theory and Quantum Field Theory. He worked as a research fellow at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark (2004-2006), the Centre de Physique Theorique in Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, France (2006-2010) and the Physics Department of the University of Crete (2010-2016). In 2016 he became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Durham University in the UK. Since 2019 he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Physics of the University of Crete.
