Bio:

Dr. Douglas Barnhart is a Professor in the Department of Surgery and the program director of the pediatric surgery fellowship. Dr. Barnhart’s principal academic focus is quality improvement and patient safety. He is the Chair of the Steering Committee of the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program- Pediatrics (American College of Surgeons). He is also a member of the Task Force for Children’s Surgical Care. In these roles, he hopes to improve the quality of children’s surgical care through collaborative work across specialties and between institutions. He is the Surgical Quality Director for Primary Children’s Hospital.
