James W. Boodley Assistant Professor of Floriculture Jim is a native Pennsylvanian who received the Bachelor of Science degree at Penn State in 1953. and the Master of Science degree 1954. He continued graduate work under the direction of Dr. John G. Seeley and August 11, 1956 he received the first Doctor of Philosophy degree in Floriculture awarded at Penn State. Jim minored in Soils and Plant Physiology. His thesis was titled "Some Effects of Maleic Hydrazide on Poinsettias." He received appointment as Assistant Professor of Floriculture September 1. In this capacity he will be assisting Dr. John Mastalerz in bettering commercial floriculture through teaching and research.
