Ph.D. in Particle Physics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1973. M.Sc. and Degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo (USP) in 1970 and 1968, respectively. He is currently Professor MS on the permanent staff of the University of São Paulo (USP). He is a full member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences since 2000. His investigations are related to research areas of Quantum Field Theories at finite temperature, Gauge Theory, Quantum Electrodynamics, Quantum Chromodynamics and Quantum Gravity.
