Worked at Oak Ridge National Lab (cf. T. O. Baldwin 1968 Phys. Rev. Lett. 21, 901) before coming to SIUE, and may then have moved to Colorado.

Thomas Owen Baldwin, Ph.D. passed away in Biloxi, MS from cardiovascular disease on Sunday, May 28, 2017. He was 78.
Tom was born in Ironton to Raynor and Audra Baldwin. He was previously married to Jeanne Harding, Ann Cairns and Karen Larsen.
Tom Baldwin is survived by his daughter, Julie Ann Baldwin (husband William Johnson); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathanial, and Isabella Johnson; and his son, Christopher Alan Baldwin.
He is also survived by his brothers, Patrick and Benjamin Baldwin, and two nephews, Kyle and Craig Baldwin.
He earned a Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Missouri and a Master in Business Administration at Southern Illinois University. He taught physics and was chairman of physics department at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville IL.
Tom moved to Boulder, CO where he created The Boulder Consulting Group. This firm was successful in helping companies such as Eli Lilly, Ford Motor Company and Celestial Seasonings in improving upper management skills. He also provided educational curriculum in continuing education for firms such as IBM and Ball Aerospace.
Tom retired to the beach community of Biloxi, MS in 2005. He taught classes at Peace River Community College in business and volunteered at NASA Stennis Space Center education center.
Tom loved the fine white beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. He continued educating others with a radio talk show and a popular Internet blog on the current state of politics in the United States.
Tom had many friends within the Biloxi community in which he lived and will be missed by them.
His high school and collegemascots were both tigers and as a young man his friends often called him “Tommy theTiger.”
Tom’s interests included reading, comical movies, backyard barbeques, as well as fine dining, golf, and bird watching. His library, including his Einstein book collection, was donated to the Seashore Oaks senior residence center where he resided.
His family will spread his ashes in the mountains near Boulder, CO, one of his favorite places.
